Making Progress

Intro

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Tommy and I decided to make drastic changes to my lifestyle to improve my current situation and become the person I always envisioned I would be.

Each email in this series will contain actionable items that you can follow step by step as a simple guide on your journey to self-improvement.

This newsletter will read like a blog at times, but I feel it’s the right platform to share the information with everyone in hopes you all will benefit from the information and advice I provide.

Following up on Day 1

If you read my email newsletter and engaged with the actionable items, you will have written down what success looks like in your life and how your life will change for the better.

You also will have started the journey to loving yourself. This is the foundation for a successful path to happiness and prosperity.

If you haven’t done so, please start today. There is no time like the present. Just remember you want this and can do it, it’s just getting started that is key.

Here is the link to my page if you ever need to refer back to previous emails.

What are you waiting for? Let’s get this.

The Overall Plan

Overall, the goal is to become the person we have always wanted to be and reach all of the goals that it will take to become that person. That is the plan.

I will be addressing various topics that will help to get you there and also responding to the top concerns of my readers.

We are going to get our minds right, get our bodies right, become extremely productive, become extremely active, work harder than we ever have before, kick all addictions, form strong relationships and networks of business partners, and either form entrepreneurial businesses or work towards obtaining that career we always dreamed of getting.

The hottest thing I’ve seen on everyone’s mind so far is becoming financially stable.

But before we can do that, let’s ensure we are mentally and physically ready to get there. This will not be a fast process, but a proven process that takes dedication.

Mind and Body

Now that goals and vision have been established, let’s start to get our brains and bodies ready for action.

I’m going to give you some actionable items on how to accomplish this, step by step:

  • The first step is to carve out 1 hour from your day, every day, to accomplish this. We are starting today. Tell your friends, spouse, kids, or whoever needs to know you will be busy in the next hour, or schedule the hour with them later today. That might mean pushing bedtime back, video game time aside, yardwork til tomorrow, or whatever the case may be. Make it happen.

  • In the first 20 minutes of this hour, remove or finish something that bothers you, causes anxiety, or stresses you out. Does a certain social media app flood you with stressful news or annoying people? Remove it. Does drinking that energy drink or large cup of coffee make you anxious? Throw it away and the majority of any remaining cans/cups in your home. Does that pile of stuff in your bedroom bother you every time you see it so you just go to bed and say you will take care of it tomorrow? Clean it up right now. JUST…DO…IT.

  • Didn’t that feel good? If not immediately, it will soon. If one one the steps above takes less than 20 mins double it up and remove/take care of 2 things. You can also make a list of things you got rid of as an achievement list or look back on all the things you removed to refer to at a later time.

  • Now for the next 10 minutes, we are going to meditate and practice breathing exercises. Find a quiet and comfortable place to do this. You might even have to go into your car, backyard, or a nearby park but find somewhere you can relax for 10 minutes and be fully present with your thoughts. Set a timer for 12 mins (2 extra mins for getting in place and setting up).

  • I will start making my own meditation videos to share with you all so we can meditate together, but for now, here are two guided meditation videos to help you in the beginning. You can also find guided meditation on apps like Apple Music, Spotify, etc along with various relaxing sounds to meditate to.

  • We are back! Now that you have started to heal and rejuvenate your mind, let’s start getting our bodies in peak shape. For the next 30 mins, it’s time to get physical. I’ll list my suggested workout routines below, but if you need guidance, refer to YouTube on anything I mentioned to perfect your form or see exactly how to do these.

  • Depending on what shape you are in now do one of the following for 30 mins.

Category #1 - I don’t ever work out or haven’t for a long long time.

    • Take a walk. Put on your shoes, go outside, and just start walking. This doesn’t need to be a fast walk just one you can do for the next 20 mins. When you get home after your walk start doing stretches. Stretch your arms, legs, and bend down to try and touch your toes for the next 5 mins. Now start doing jumping jacks. I need 5 mins of jumping jacks. No set number of them but just start and do them as much as you can for 5 mins.

Category #2 - I’m in decent shape and move around a lot.

    • Take a jog for 10 mins, floor exercise for 10 mins, and weights for 10 mins. Throw on your shoes, go outside, and mix jogging/running in with walking as needed. Go five minutes away from your home and then jog five mins back. When you get home set the timer for 10 mins, get on the floor, and mix up sets of pushups and situps back and forth. Finally the last 10 minutes, grab a set of dumbbells if you have them or something heavy (cans of paint, gallons of water, bags of flour, etc) and mix up sets of curls, shoulder presses, and squats while holding the weights/heavy objects.

Category #3 - I’m in great shape and work out all the time.

    • Work out for 30 mins and make it hardcore. You know the moves, now sweat and feel this one for the next 30. No light stuff.

  • And there it is! You have accomplished so much in the last hour and I’m proud of you and you should be very proud of yourself. This needs to be a daily thing. Prepare, make time, make it happen.

Until Next Time…

I hope that you enjoyed this content and will return and read my next email. We are still at the beginning of this journey, the money, relationship, career, overcoming addiction, and other advice are soon to come.

I have so much more to share and will always provide you with direct, actionable tips that helped me and will help you find the joy in life that you have been seeking.

Until we meet again.

Cheers.
